Smile Just changed the gear box oil

I cannot believe the difference in shift quality now! It defies logic. The stuff that came out was pretty black, not sure how that happens, but all is so much better. AND SMOOTHER!! I used to have a little bit of trouble shifting into 3rd, now that is gone and the gear box feels great!

Did you just change the oil?

You might also need to change the filter if your oil was black.

...and only about 1/3 of the oil comes out if you drained it through the drain plug. So run it for a little while, then drain and refill it again to get as much of the old oil out as possible.

Oh hold on, if its a manual, disregard the above.

Where is the filter on the g/box? I thought that was only on the LT77?

I ended up putting in about 2.5L, which is about right.

They do have a filter on the earlier manual g/box. But you got me thinking...I'm like filter..where...where is this filter

Yeah I thought about the systrans... I will run it next time for sure. There was a build of crap on the drainplug... probably from the second to third shift, but not to worried atm.

The LT95 has a filter behind the drain plug. It is a long nylon cylinder that can be pulled out with a pinkie.
    Dunno about more recent ones.
