Excellent - those Qt guards look to be about the best around.

Nice and strong, but boy they aren't cheap!

Arvo now, surely they are fitted!?

just measured them out of interest, they are 5mm thick! I never realised they were as beefy as they were until they came, so only down side is I have lost a bit of diff clearance.....but gained something to skid on

I didn't fit mine as it requires removal of the diff and fitting new studs from inside the diff. Too much hassle. I'll be selling the guard.

    holy **** really.....

*scurrys off to look at the fitting instructions*

EDIT: was this for the p38 Ron? its not the case on mine, look like all that is need on mine is the removal of one or two studs which you refit with the guard.....prehaps if we fit them on a fine day we should do a pic tutorial for anyone that is not sure about buying them

    You got instructions?

    I didn't.

On the P38A, the studs are too short to fit the diff guard thus requiring their replacement. The P38A parts manual shows removable studs hold the diff carrier in position. If that were the case, it wouldn't be a problem.

However, the studs are fitted from inside the axle housing (like wheel studs) - as I found when I looked at a housing at Bundalene's place.

Some D1 housings have removable studs but the studs are long enough anyway.

Some fitting pics would be great Dullbird as this will probably be the next part on my disco. I don't expect it to be a hard job but it is still good to have pics.

Saw a set of them at Rovacraft in Melbourne earlier in the year. Looked very solid.

Did you buy them here or from the UK?

On a Disco, they are an easy fit, albeit the front one requires a little welding. The one for the rear diff needed some cutting and grinding as it fouled the doughnut in the propshaft, but all within the scope of the semi-competent home mechanic.
They are definitely a good choice and I never regretted the purchase (and fitment).
