novice info re buying 2nd hand disco

    Hi Folks

Have found a 1995, 3.9L, 4 door auto, duel fuel disco for sale. I assume that makes it a Disco 1?

I have a good check list of things to look for in any landy but know nothing about the intricasies of discos (am a red & yellow knob person ie limited knowledge about series 1 & 2!)

Nearly 200000k. Does it need timing belts etc then? (told you I am a dumb bum). Any thing else specific to that year model that can cause problems?

Are they as robust offroad as a series2 for example, I want to use it mostly off road on Forestry tracks but not normally radically difficult territory?

Many thanks to you knowledgeable people.
    Tony

Yeah a 1995 is a series 1 Discovery, the V8 is a timing chain so no belt. Check for rust, esp around the alpine windows (the upper ones in the load area), and under the carpets at the front, also there might be some issues with the door locks or power windows.
Great truck suprised how capable it was stock, and seems to be robust off road (i've only owned mine about 6 months)
