Our Land Rover does not leak oil! it just marks its territory.......
if its winding over and not firing i cannot see how it would be the starter?
put a fuel pressure gauge after the pressure regulator at the end of the fuel rail and see how much pressure there is at the rail/injectors.
if the reg gets blocked up it can drop pressure at the injectors resulting in the fuel not being atomized in the cylinders.
if you have replaced all those items and you have spark at the plugs (good strong white spark) and your timing is correct then fuel is the next step.
yourse is also diesel and not petrol![]()
and..are the starters not the same for both models then?
EDIT: actually I don't think they are the same...but any how I dont see what that has to do with it when I have posted a link to someone with starter problems in a V8

FWIW, I had these same starting problems and ended up replacing the injectors. Solved the issue.
I bought recoed ones of EBAY.
Thought better give an update on the starting issue. After many months of changing parts bit the bullet and replaced the injectors what a difference its made starts properly now. has stopped spitting raw fuel out the exhaust runs heaps smoother.Just in case anyone is interested we sourced brand new injectors from the states $470 AUD delivered to our door. The injectors we used were ford yellow tops. If anyone is interested in buying any PM us and will give you the contact details for the injector supplier.
Thanks to everyone for their input on this thread.
