Clutch Pedal VERY Heavy
Thanks everyone for your ideas on LPG conversion ... I am attending to a more pressing problem the clutch pedal on my 1996 Manual V8i is VERY heavy to press in - it has good travel with the mechanism kicking in about 3cm or 4cm from the start of pressing clutch but it is incredibly heavy to press down ( feel like I'm driving a semi trailer ! ) . Manual suggests to lube linkages above pedal with machine oil but I get the feeling it's more in the mechanism.
One thing, a couple of years after buying the car new a large broken chewed up spring fell from above the clutch pedal - dealer said not to worry and wacked a heap of grease on it to no avail.
Any ideas on what could be the cause and aprrox cost to remedy ?
Thanks

Woz, who's to know? Until you find what is causing the problem, feedback is not really useful for you.

Hi Pete,
Just seeking someone who may have experience with this problem ... if I knew what it was I wouldn't need feedback - duh ?

When was the last time the clutch fluid was changed?

Good point Boxer, I don't think it has been changed for a long while, if at all - just topped up ... will bleed the system and renew fluid and see if that helps.
Cheers,
