If you don't want a lift or guard cut... why not stick with the standard size tyre?![]()
Ok searched but came up with no real answer.
What size tyres fit on a standard D1 tdi no lift kit
What width and height.
thanks Your reply is very appreciated.

I have a D1 pre update discoand it had 225/70/16 when I bought it but this means the speedo is out by about 5-6% so if your speedo says 100kph then you are actually doing 91-95kph roughly with out getting a calculator
.
I have 245/70/16 BFG muds and they hit my rear guards when flexing off road and damaged the guards, the speedo is over the 100kph mark by 3kph at present but this will change whne I get new tyres. What I am told 235/70/16 is spot on with the speedo and no guards require modifactions. Keep in mind that the fuel consumption will go up
but this is mostly due to your speedo reading.
Hope this helps
I'd only go the bigger tyre sizes if a suspension upgrade was coming soon. If you can't afford suspension stay with stock sized tyres, or 245/70 at the very most.
You'd get away with 245/75 on standard height suspension, but you'll still need a small trim on your rear guards. However, it wouldn't look "right" without a 2" lift IMHO.
Tyre placard will reveal all!!
On one of the front door frames (in my case its the drivers door) will be the original tyre placard which will tell you what size tyre was originally fitted ex the factory. All subsequent tyre replacement should equal the rotational size of the original fitment.
On my 93 d1 200tdi the original tyre size was 205r16 on a 7j x 16 rim.
All replacement tyres and rims need to have an overall diameter size equivalent to this original size. Technically any change to this original fitment will require an engineers certificate (but no one seems to do this??)
no as discussed in another thread anything over 15mm from factory needs a cert
Our Land Rover does not leak oil! it just marks its territory.......
im running 265/75/16 on standard height i chopped the rear gears the front bumper corners put 30mm bump stop extensions in the rear and adjusted the stoppers and they are fine now
Just on the speedo issue I currently have 235/70/16 on it and my gps states I am doing 95km/ph when it is saying 100.
that sounds about right from what i have read
