Hi all.... I know that this is probably a sore subject by now, but I'm going to be a pain and raise it again because I dont have the patience to search for it! haha sorry!
I have a 2" lift, I want to put 265/75r16 Bighorns on, I know I will have to trim the rear guard and adjust my steering stop bolt....
With this size will I need offset rims?If so how much?
And, will I need flares?
I only have standard rims at the moment.

I wasnt implying that somebody else search for the information for me.... my researching skills aren't quite that developed.
I just thought that amongst the knowledge floating around this forum that someone may know from the top of their head.....![]()
I have a 2" (actually I cant remember if it is a 2 1/2 or 3") spring lift and am running 265/75 BFG TA's on standard rims. yes you have to adjust the steering stops so that you dont rub the tyres against the chassis, if you use offset rims then you wouldn't have to do this and have the worlds worst turning circle. I never trimmed my guards I just flew it over a jump and let the tyres sort it outnot the most finese I have seen but it did work.
P.S. Iv'e been on here for years it seems and still haven''t worked out the art of searching for posts, which every one will agree because I keep asking dumb questionsHell I haven't even worked out how to put photo on here

I have 265/75-16 on mine, I have "0mm" offset rims and I had to cut the guards and fit flares. I did have them on my OEM rims without the flares, but I had to do the "camel cut" on the rear, and they would foul on full lock until I adjusted the steering stops - then I had to do 54 point turns into my parking bay at work. Fitting the "0mm" offset rims gives me a great turning circle.
My understanding is that 0mm offset should mean that the mounting face of the rim is on the centreline of the rim. The standard rims have an offset of +33mm which means the mounting face is offset from the centreline towards the outside of the rim 33mm.
I am fitting 265/75 on friday to my alloys which are +20mm offset so will be able to tell you after the weekend how much cutting is needed for this offset.
I have also been told by a couple of people with this size tyre that you are able to get away with just a camel cut on standard offset rims.
Mine are -25 offset, and they hang out further

Can you guys with 265x75x16 on standard rims post a pic or two up for me... I like to see how they sit on the D1 with stock rims.

4WD Action did an article on a S1 disco fitting 33 M/T's with a 2" lift a coupla months ago.
Well, the story was mainly about flare installation, but from what I can remember, no steering stop adjustment was needed with -25mm offset rims.
Worth checking out, flares looked horn too with big rubber tucked up in the well.
