It be a earth issue just don't know.
If the coil is mounted on the inner guard check that there is an EARTH from body to chassis and chassis to engine and that the battery earth is also mounted to the block properly, low voltage to the coil may be because you have poor earths to any of the above mentioned places, post up the results when you solve your problem, it will be helpful to others, Regards Frank.

Auto electric has been finds it bizzar himself has taken new coil to work shop to bench test.

Just called back coil is ok but put's out 12v to dizzy ? has placed an order for a new coil to test voltage output to dizzy. Thinks the module dosn't like to high a voltage to start engine.

Now waiting to hear back from him about his new coil.

100% not the new coil and I have to get it to his workshop on Monday so he can use his test equipment and do some tracking down as to what it is.

Does anyone know if I will be charged if I call RACV to tow it to his workshop I have Total Care with them.

Just been on the phone this evening with the auto electric and has had the landy running and had it cut out on him after it splutted and back fired then cut out.

He thinks it might be one of 2 things either the module on the dizzy might have been cheap sh*t module put on it OR the immobilser but I don't think my landy has one or did all 1995 landy have them ? anyone know ? he told me in that past he has had 2 landy's doing the same thing and it was traced to the immobilser under the dash.

I was wondering what happened and hows it all going ....

I don't think you have the alarm ... but ...

    Spider alarm for you ....

    .... clicky ...

You can also buy a bypass plug for it from RoverCraft

The module can be tested for being knackered .... via a multi meter

Sorry ... (NFI) "outside what I know" ... so to speak

All I can suggest is that ....
The voltage feed wire to the coil is lacking volts
    The module is no good
    The immobiliser is shot

You bought a fleabay aftermarket Dizzy complete with module ... so I don't know what to say about that either ... It should be OK // have had a few mates buy them for different brands and they have all been good

Have you tried borrowing a working distributor off someone to rule out if it is the module.Might be the easiest and cheapest way for you to rule it out before you go buying anything else.If you were closer you could borrow mine.

"landy running and had it cut out on him after it splutted and back fired then cut out"

Those symptoms could be caused by intermittent contact... e.g. of parts with some sort of mechanical failure: Have you or the mech checked the integrity of the distributor cap... ? especially signs of "tracking" and also that the springloaded carbon button which contacts the top of the rotor hasn't partially disintegrated?
