I thought the SRS light would do that as the SRS has registered a faulty bulb (it was disconnected) but I didn't know the ABS would do that.
I assume you've driven the car and it doesn't go out when you've exceeded 8km/h.
I had my instrument cluster removed from my D1 TDI. Whilst it was off I turned the ignition on. When I put it back together my ABS light stays on. Does any one know how to fix this?
Dave.

Ron,
I have driven the car. I did this job a while ago and the light has been on ever since.
Dave.
Hmm. If you lived near me I'd reset it for you.

Ron,
What diagnostic is available for a D1?
Dave.
Hmm, good question. I've never looked into the D1 diagnostics.
I'll need to look at the T4 book.....
OK, T4 can look at the D1 ABS. The 96 models onwards have, apparently, and OBD2 type connector. The earlier models use a different connector and I'm not sure if I have that one.

Here is what worked for me.

Good luck.
Yes that's right I had my abs anti lock light come on after my ABS kicked in on me turning into a parking space...I was passing the garage so dropped in and was told
intermittent fault was logged
and open circuit was logged i.e it had failed put a new sensor in 2 days later (thanks Scott) and all has been good
Our Land Rover does not leak oil! it just marks its territory.......
I've replaced 3 so far (thanks JC for the 2 rear ones) and no problems since. The light might have been off for days and all of a sudden the light would not go off. Intermittent fault. Best you have someone with one of those fancy diagnostic tools to get it checked.
Matt
Edit: Also when I bought the car the light was off as who ever owned it before removed the globe ;-)
interesting and frustrating when this occurs, as it has to me (95ES). The Wabco system records hard and soft codes - the latter self-correct if the problem goes away whereas the former need cancelling and of course rectification. I had several faults on diagnosis related to brake switch (new one required 60 bucks) and RHF abs sensor that is still happening cause I'm waiting on a cheaper (eg., UK spares) option than the 350 bucks for a new sensor in Aus.![]()
