I think you'll need an engineers certificate to get it insured. Will cost between $500-over $1000, then you have to go get it on your rego papers(about $50).
Boxer,
thank you for that I will give them a try on monday and see what they have to say.
Cheers,
Terry

That's not such a problem in this case as the previous owner who had it modified had the lift and the brake line extensions etc certified by an engineer and he gave me the certification when I purchased it.

Not too sure 2Door, what did they tell you Terry?
Sorry but I've had some real issues with the software on my laptop today so I've been flatout with that and have not had time to ring anyone.
This will have to wait at least until tomorrow until I can catch up and haveenough spare time to wait the mandatory 40 minutes on a telephone as per the norm with Insurance Companies.
I'll put something up as soon as I find out Boxer.
Cheers,
Terry
Hi Terry
When I was the 4wd QLD association rep for our 4WD Club, we used TCIS who is the underwriter for the clubs activities, they are in Sth Aust and their premiums were quite competitive for modified vehicles i.e. mine was only another $70 dearer than Suncorp her in QLD and NRMA would not even touch me. Another one is QBE who are extremely competitive. If you Google TCIS the girl there is very helpful and will email a quote within 24hrs.
Cheers Ian
There must have been something else involved - two weeks ago I got a quote for my 101 from Shannons for offroad work and was not an issue. I would have gone with them but got a better overall deal elsewhere.
Shannons had a good premium but there excess was high and I only had first option to buy the wreck if it was wriiten off. With my current insurer the premium was only slightly more but the excess was half and the wreck is returned at no cost.

When I went to insure my Defender ALL the companies I spoke to offered agreed value or markt value insurance. However when I enquired, they said that the maximum "agreed" value they'd so was XXXXX - exactly what i;d paid, and equal to the red ook value at that time.
That's not very agreeale at all !
It's not broken. It's "Carbon Neutral".
