Having had sucess with the injector wiring I thought I would have a go trying to find why this V8 was a sod to start. It would wind over and over and not even try to run. Sometimes it would start first go, but it had been slowly getting worse. I installed the timing light, cranked the engine and no light at all, therefore no spark. I disconnected the UK RPI amplifier and reconnected the original amplifier. Still no good. Disconnected the expensive MSD coil which was supposed to be for 4WD's, and replaced it with the original 14 year old coil. The engine would not have even turned once when it burst into life. And it idled better. Then reconnected the UK amplifier from RPI and again it started first go. It has started every time about 40 times today hot and cold. So the moral is, keep to what LandRover put there for you.
