its a friends 300 TDi EDC auto, don't 70,000 miles, (jap import), drives superb around town with no issues at all. Car has had a full service, new lift pump, new silicone turbo hoses etc.
When driving along at say 50-60 mph, put your foot right down and she begins to accelerate but then just cuts the power completely, engine stays at around normal RPM, but just has no guts, if you let the pedal off and re-apply the gas, she then goes again. It almost like the turbo stops dead......
It can be made to do it when accelerating hard up a hill, if the vehicle is loaded up then a long climb up a hill will cause the same issue if you apply full throttle to keep the speed.
Any ideas on this one ?
Had a similar issue with an EDC D1 aswell, a Jap import also, in WA when I was over there. It turned out it was a throttle potentiometer, which we had to get from UK.
I wouldn't discount the good old collapsing turbo hose though. It will also give the same symptoms.
Annoyingly i have full diagnostics on my Rovacom for EDC Tdi, but none to diagnose
