well when Ian did my other front I asked him.....to repack the rears.

when I got home from work I said whats that on the wheels? he said oil from your rear bearings from when I checked them.
I said what do you mean......and he replied your rears are oil fed.

I said I am pretty sure that my rears have always been greased and we have never changed them.......so I guess perhaps my seals are gone and now I have oil fed rear bearings
Our Land Rover does not leak oil! it just marks its territory.......

Wheel bearing repack by MR Automotive

When I took my Disco 1 to MR Automotive in Brissy for 200 thou service they asked when I had last had them done as they recommend every 80 though! Somewhat emberassed I admitted they had never been done ( I had owned it since the 80 thou mark). I had them done last week for a cost of $349 which was a total wash and re pack, new seals and locking washers and wheel rotation.

The bearing were still fine, but I must admit I am happier they have been checked! For info mine is 98 disco and is all grease bearings.

I check mine every 50K Km when I replace the pads and replace at every 100K Km when I replace the rotors.

Ujs get greased every month/10K and replaced with the rotors
