I have got around the issue so far by winding the throttle on a bit more at rest on the butterfly. He he, yeah its not the right fix but kept me happy for a few weeks till i have fix it.

What does the IAC valve do? I was going to look at timing and my spark plugs and leads, the Leads look a bit short. And maybe pop open the Distributor cap and have a poke around.

Big Jon mentioned the TPS unit, what might this be? LOL the letters will probably stand for something real simple.
