Thanks for that Cal the ARB sounds like it is a good thing and it looks very sturdy.

Unfortunately I have not been able to find any prices on the ARB fridges though.

If someone can assist with roughly what they cost that would be great?

    Cheers,
    Terry

Oh the steel engel thing, mainly because they scratch up and dent easily compared to the hard poly stuff the ARB is made from, and seeing as it will spend a bit of time up the beach i try and avoid anything that could develop rust!

Went and had a look at the ARB fridge today. and it certainly looks the goods. Only problem is that I dont think that it will fit. they quote 705mm and I think I will only have about 660mm to play with. But I guess before I go to buy I will just ask them to chuck it in the back to check..cant hurt hey

This is what an 80L Waeco looks like on top of drawers in a Disco1 with a cargo barrier.

A 110L will fit too as it has the same footprint. If the 110L is on top of drawers you will find it difficult to open the lid enough though I would think.

These models have steel sides with a plastic base, lid and trim.

    On top and beside it.

The rest goes in the camper.

The fridge goes in the camper too if we are just heading somewhere to camp and not doing a little tour.

Bought it 10 months ago, replaced two days later, the replacement is currently at its second trip to the hospital (waeco factory) getting repaired. took 4 weeks last time and they reckon they couldn't find anything wrong with. Up to three weeks as of tomorrow and I was told today they haven't started on it.

    Cheers
