Whats the biggest fridge I can fit??

I have a 40l steel Engel mounted in the back of my D1 on an Engel slide. I removed both handles and cut a small section out of the barrier (not unlike a ski port in a euro car) so the fridge tucks up nice and tight to the top of the rear seat. It fits perfectly.

Lack of handles isn't a problem as I use a couple of lengths of nylon webbing as carry handles attached to the Engel supplied tie down brackets.

Sorry I don't, it was all a pretty rush job that was done the day before we left Perth to head back up here a few months ago. It's still not quite fully finished ATM, but you know how these things are, while it is working fine I can't be bothered pull it out again to finish it. I can give you a run down on what I did and take some more shots if you would like though.

probably because they gave them a fridge...

I don't really rate 4wd Action anymore... its just not the mag it used to be (much better when it was 4wd Monthly and Pat Callinan was at the helm)..

Anyways, umm, the ARB fridge wont fit in a D1.. they call it at 705mm, so no it wont fit :(

That is what I intend to do. There is no way that I am going to go touring without a cargo barrier. I saw those tie downs on ebay today for the first time too. I think this will give me the most space and biggest fridge too. :)

Easy fix for that, upgrade to a d2 ;)

mine is 50l and easy to access in postion as seen

Just to confuse the issue I have a Bushman and this fits just nicely in the back of a D1 with a slide. Had it for six years and no problems. All steel cabinet, danfoss compressor and keep the frothy's just nice.

Shouldnt be a danfoss if it is a Bushman
