Gday all, got myself a ironman 2inch lift coils and shocks for my disco just wondering if anyone has got ironman shocks and are they long enough to add 30mm coil spacers, also whats some general feedback on ironman?
1 more thing is it worth getting a steering dampener whats the steering feel like with a new one, cheers!
Yeh not in ironman i have found other brands though, cheers
They should be fine, I have fitted plenty with 30mm spacers with them springs, Just check your shock length, you want it roughly in the middle of its stroke sitting on level ground.
Cheers
I have ironmans in my discovery, to get rough ride height to do other things like fit 35,s cut guards etc. while saving my pennys to put a set of konis, or coilovers in. Generally i would say that are not bad considering the price. a bit hard unless you are hitting bumps with a bit of speed but other than that i would say they are pretty good for general 4wd use yes they are good value for money. as i am setting up a comp car, they are not quite up to spec for what i need. You will also find if you use 25mm or 30mm coil spacers in the front you will get it sitting pretty much level unless you are carrying some weight in the rear. the front will settle down about an inch lower than the back.
Thanks mate, anyone put a new steering dampener in? is it worth it?
If I had to guess as a novice as to why he did it this way, I would say he was of the thinking that if your shock is set around half way of its stroke then on compression your not going to top out your shock....thats the only way I can think of it.
I'm not saying this is right only guessing this would be his reasoning
