    Rear Main Woes

    G'Day All,
I fitted a 4.6 in my Disco 1 about a year ago and almost straight away it leaked from the rear main, not long after I had to take the gearbox out so, I cleaned it up and fitted a new seal thinking I may of damaged the first one ?? Not so as it leaked again !, Its taken a while but i have finally got the donk out to see whats going on !!
I have had a real close look and there is a slight score on the crank right about where the seal runs ?? So I think this must be the cause, the seal looks fine with no damage ! Now Im told that I can fit a speedy sleeve and a new seal and all would be good ?? is this the only fix ?? Whats peoples thoughts on speedy sleeve ?? and does anyone know the exact size of the crank where the seal runs ? I am measuring with the verniers but would like to know the exact size !

    Cheers & Thanks in advance.

My thoughts are that Speedy sleeves work ...

The crank size is a different matter, as you need to rely on the verniers (cranks get ground when reconditioned)

BTW ......... I see you moved up into the hills
