    Smoke screen

    Hi all I have a 95 tdi disco. I went for a play with some mates with 4x4, s yesterday and when coming down s steep hill in low range 2nd my disco started to pur out greyish blue smoke. So much in fact that the 4x4 behind me had to stop and let the smoke clear be for he come down the hill. When my dico got on level ground it cleared up in a mater of minutes what would corse it to do that and is it a big problem?
    Any help would be much appreciated cheers jono.

    If it was a really steep slope, it could have been just oil slopping up under the pistons and some getting past the rings. In a diesel with some K's on it, no big problem as long as it behaves itself on level ground. Just check to see that your oil level is correct (Not over)

    Mine does the same on steep hills too especially when you back off the throttle (I just put it down to a built in Batman gadget.....)
