i did do a search on viscous fan with very limited results,
Anyhow im just glad it's off and now there's a new thread to help someone else out with the same problem

You'll have to improve your search technique! That quote of mine came up with a simple search.

Maybe we'd better put the info in The Good Oil (if it's not already there).
