    Steering Arm NEWCASTLE

Hey guys i have managed to bend the arm running from wheel to steering box in front of the diff on my 98 D1... And am off on a long 10hour drive this Saturday... So am wondering if i would be lucky enough to find a second hand steering arm on here?

If you have one or know of someone who does it would be greatly appreciated!

Four x 4 at Kotara should have one - but never accept their first price on a used item. Last time I was there after some bits I was given a price and when I said the that was about the same as I could get from the UK they dropped the price by half - no real bargaining.

Having said that their prices on new and second hand bits are very usually competitive.

I like many other locals like to STEER (terrible Pun) clear of the All4X4 guys simply due to cost... being a uni student i simply cant afford their prices. But atleast at the end of the day i know if nothing else comes up they will have what i need.

They quoted me $88 for the arm and $150 to fit it. Then i did think of another option raised by a mate of just belting it straight?

That seems expensive, I had my bent track rod replaced with a second hand one (including second hand, but still in good condition tie rod ends) for $80, including removing the old one and fitting the new one.

Belting it straight isn't a good idea, if you want it to last.

It will always have a weak point now where it first bent, and will bend easier next time.

Replace it now, or you will only have to do it again later.
