    32" 265/75R16 Cooper STT on D1

    Hi yall

Tyres. Done to death. You'd think.

I would like to hear from anyone running 265/75R16 Cooper STT on their D1.
I have some concern as at 813mm they are genuinely 32" and the sidewall lugs may foul on guards.
Running factory Disco alloys. Happy to camel cut but not ready for flares yet.

I am amidst sorting gearing so no issues there.

    cheers
    Dan

Thanks, that's encouraging, but the ATR tread is smooth sidewalled.
In my case I'm specifically concerned about the side lugs of the STT being all it takes to touch the lip of the guards. If all it takes is a little rolling of the lip and a camel cut then I am there, but flares are out for the moment.

    Anyone?

-they wont poke out past the guards
-they may just rub the inner lip of the guard on compression but not likely and a small rolling of the lip would be more than adequate. I had 245/75/16's on factory alloys in my first d1 and it missed quite a bit so 265's should be fine
-will definately need a camle cut as already stated.

I have 265/75R16 MTZ (much the same as STT) on stock disco I steel wheels. I don't know what difference alloys would make.

Mine don't need flares, but do need the camel cut at rear of all four guards.

I had 33"x10.5x15" before these and my camel cut is a bit more than required for 265/75's. They start a little above the top edge of the rubber strips and blend into the curve, so appearance is ok, except for where the 33's hit when I had not trimmed enough.

Thanks. I have 245s ATM too and it *looks* like I have room left but with so many variations in actual sizes between manufacturers and models I just want to be careful.
Usually, once the tyre is fitted, you own it. Not many people will offer a 'trial fit' and jack up a corner on the hoist to test.
The tyres that came with the car were only 225/75R16 HT (so only about 9mm? tread and smooth sidewall) and even they just touched the rear lip at full compression with swaybar removed.

Thanks. That's a pretty neat cut too.
I only have 2" suspension lift and no BL; yours looks stratospheric by comparison. Do your tyres stuff right up into the guards?
