    Hi Ade and welcome.

Yep pretty much as you said.

    For the NON-AIRBAG model.

Best to pull the horn fuse, or undo the negative battery lead, otherwise you will be beeping the horn all the way through.

Prise out the centre horn cap with a screwdriver.
This can be quite tricky as the horn cap is held in all the way around the edge by a lip.
Once you get it out in one spot it just pops out.
Try not to damage the steering wheel with the screwdriver.

The actual horn mechanism is just held in place by the edges of the steering wheel (I think, it has been a while since I removed mine).
Stick a small screwdriver vertically between the edge of the steering wheel and the plastic horn mechanism and lever it out, you may have to run the screwdriver around the edge of the plastic to pop it out.
Undo the electrical connectors on the mechanism and remove it.

Grab the right socket and undo the nut.
The steering wheel can sometimes take a lot of force to pull it off the splines, so watch out you don't whack yourself in the face.

Like disco@stu said, leave the nut on a few threads.

I then grab the wheel at 1/4 to 3, plant feet firmly on the floor, and pull up like a crazy man - alternating the pull to each hand.

Haven't had a wheel beat me (yet)!
