All this black bonnet talk makes me think I should paint it white. Then whenever a panel starts to fade I can spray it white and have what I wanted in the first place. A white Disco

To get rid of the reflection from the over head lights, is the real reason. As the british green for example is still a gloss. Its nearly as annoying as lights reflecting off an Alloy or Stainless bull bar, nearly, but not quite! ALOT of people get them for the looks, granted the black bonnet does look better in my opinion. If I were to do it, which I will when I install my roof rack and lights, I think I'll just paint the whole bonnet black.

By the way DullBird, your bonnet looks unreal. Flat makes it look awesome.

Anyone got a photo of a totally black bonnet on a Disco or RRC?
A mate bought a Mitsi FTO white body and black bonnet. Not quite the same though.

That would be brilliant if you can find it Grover. Good luck trying.

I have tried and tried to get the old computer to work again! but for many various reasons it is simply worth nothing other then the fee it will cost me to chuck it in the dump

Sorry guys! i wish i had transferred all the important things over when i got the new computer I am sure there is some way i can get data from the hard drive, but i am no computer guru when it comes to stuff like that.

No worries James. Thanks for trying.

A friend was telling me about a technique where you lay tape along the edge (as you would for masking out), lay a template over the bonnnet and then use a pencil to rub the edge onto the template. The tape gives you a defined line rather than just using the crease of the bonnet. I'm assuming that what a signmaker would do.

Has any one got experience with this technique?
