Any noticable increase in under bonnet temperature with a black bonnet or is it so hot under there that it makes no difference?
I know it would make sod all difference in NZ and the UK but I was thinking in Oz it might

V8 engine bay temp can exceed 90 degrees C so at "critical times" when ambient temperature is high.....during long distance wading....deep sand driving etc etc so it is more a case of the bonnet trying to re-radiate that large heat load back into the atmosphere. It is not the case of a more reflective lighter colour bonnet dealing with comparatively lesser heat load of the sun than a non reflective a black bonnet.
My matt black painted bonnet is there to deal with the reflection from roof mounted lights with little or no impact upon engine bay temp. However there is a auto switched extraction fan sitting under a bonnet scoop that helps deal with high engine bay temps in the circumstances mentioned above.

My car is already niagra grey so it is as close to black as they come. Plus as said the V8 engine bay melts the polar ice caps as it idles in the driveway as it is
