    Welcome to the Forum.

A difficult question to answer as sand can vary from hard packed to soft and powdery.

However, a good starting point and general rule is to use low range, about 18 to 20 psi and avoid spinning wheels. Take off slowly and build up to desired speed as quickly as possible without wheelspin and don't turn sharply.

Regarding tyres, a large diameter, relatively smooth tyre with rounded shoulders is best and will reduce the tendancy to dig in.
If you do happen to get bogged, don't bury yourself to the chassis rails/diffs but instead, stop early and try reversing slowly over your tracks, maybe after letting tyres down an extra couple of psi.
Don't forget the shovel and don't be afraid to use it to reduce the grade infront of the wheels when debogging.

Good luck and enjoy your experience.

The major factor in sand is tyre pressure. Drop to 15-20psi, repressure before driving at speed on hard surfaces. Apart from that, just treat the accelerator gently and avoid wheelspin. Never stop or change gears on an uphill slope (plan ahead). If driving on a beach watch for unexpected gutters or soft spots, and keep your speed down.

    Hi there.
Is it auto/manual, petrol or diesel.
Soft sand, firmer, any mods done, tyres fitted.
For a manual, I would lock centre diff, stay in high range so not to spin tyres too much and either 1st or 2nd.
Drive at steady speed, preferably in existing wheel ruts and plan your exit routes.
Soft sand i go down to 15-18 psi.
stay away from water and going below high tide line, should you do get bogged at least you won't get flooded.
The auto is easy, diff lock in, select high range D and go.
Air down though and if a bit bogged, try reversing out first.
Ohh and take a long handled shovel.

Remember, steady driving is the go on the beach.

Most is covered in above posts, also in the soft stuff, keep up your momentum & if a manual, quick gear changes are the go,or try not to change at all.

    Make sure CDL is in.

I generally try to stay in high range as much as possible, but sometimes if you are gonna have to get through a real soft section, low range is better.

    Good luck
