    Aah, Terminal Disease Strikes Again.

Seriously, the Lucas electrics in D1's are a British national disgrace. A bloke who got me to convert his brand new D1 in 1996 lasted a whole month before it broke down in Collins St Melb with dead ignition. Was he cross.

Most of the D1's and classics I convert to gas now get a Bosch conversion to the coil/amp set-up, so I don't get the frantic phone call..."It won't go!". Hasn't failed me yet. Hopefully some RR workshop in the eastern states will cotton on to this trick and make hundreds of kits to save all the Landy owners losing face in front of the jappy things!

No splutter, no stalling or cutting out. And that was just little old totally non mechanical me with a pair of tweezers (I have no tools - being female and all, and usually having a very mechanically minded male around to do this stuff for me) and my little girly finger pressure clamping it that bit tighter. I have to admit I am rather proud of myself

Bad news is the minor radiator leak mightn't be so minor. It's actually leaking at the connection to the oil cooler, so at least it explains why it is running hotter. Best case scenario there is a blockage that can be cleared, solder up where the leak is and I'll be off and running again. Worst case of course is a new radiator, that certainly isn't in the budget at present

Critical thinking is the most valuable tool of all. The other kind of tools you can buy anywhere.
