Thread: What to look 4 when buying?

looking at buying a used disco diesel unsure of man or auto tho. just wanting to know what to look for, what comenly goes wrong? cheers

I agree with Bee utey, the best money you can spend is getting an expert to check it over.

A service history is important, look undernieth it, is oil leaking anywhere? look at the brakes are they flat or do they have grooves in them? check the bushes how worn are they? look in the header tank is the water green with coolant or clear? If it's a manual gently put it up against a bloody great big tree and gently go through the gears does it stall (no accelerator) when you let out the clutch in each gear?

It's very hard to put experience into words, some leaks are normal some you avoid like the plague, some dents are simple use others are thrashed, I could go on but you get the idea I hope. this is really why you need a expert to check it over. It would only cost a couple of hundred of dollars to get a full report.
