    Koni shocks good for lift?

    hey all, more questions!

I've got Koni adjustable shocks front and rear and got under there to find part numbers today.
    Fronts 84-1186
    Rears 84-1189

I found on the Koni website they make shocks for both standard and lifted heights, but none of my part numbers even resemble the part numbers they list

Does anyone recognise these numbers as being standard length shocks, long travel shocks etc..?

Searching the web, these were the best figures i could find, I'm hoping they make sense to someone here coz i'm lost
    Part: 84-1186 (Fronts)
    Extended Length: 22.3" / ~566mm
    Compressed Length: 13.5" / ~342mm
    Travel: 8.9" / ~226mm

    Part: 84-1189 (Rears)
    Extended Length: 22.1" / ~561mm
    Compressed Length: 13.6" / ~345mm
    Travel: 8.5" / ~216mm

Ultimately, i'm looking to put in 2" lifted springs all round and keen on keeping the shocks. The front is already lifted (about 40mm) but the rear is stock height.

This thread gave the answer for standard travel Koni's http://www.aulro.com/afvb/technical-...ng-travel.html but I think im trying to go back a step and just find out more about the current shocks. If they're standard travel, above standard etc.?

So I guess if someone can interpret those shock specs, im hoping i've possibly scored some longer travel items? Or if anyone can confirm they'll be fine with lifted springs?

Also, i'm not after big articulation changes. main reason for the spring lift is just to fit bigger tyres, any increase in movement would just be a bonus (although obviously i don't want to lose any either!)

3" springs no spacers, i got them off ebay and they came out of a rangie and were supposed to be 40mm lift according to the specs but i'm happy with the extra clearance.

I think what he was saying was that they were suppose to be 40mm when he bought them but were 3 inches when he put them in.

Correct Chris, i bought them as lifted springs and then when i got them i read the part numbers which said they were for a 40mm lift- i'm not complaining . DB there you go jumping the gun again.

so you read the part number and it states that it was for a 40mm lift

but a 40mm spring in the rear is only 1" isn't it...

pretty sure it is I have 40mm in the front and 50mm in the rear 2" lift....

So unless I have read this post very wrong as well

Or are you saying that they were tagged with a part number for a 40mm but when you measured them they were 60mm or what ever it is making it a 3" (I'm guessing that measurement hence my original question)

And no jumping any gun was just asking a question...

Only a woman can confuse a simple post so quickly, 50mm= close to 2" mine are 3" so close to 75mm front and rear not 40mm F and 50mm R.

Yes the id label part number according to the website was stated to give a 40mm lift F & R but when i fitted them it is definately lifted by 3 " (75mm give or take a few) .
