i had 3 rear pinion seals changed on mine keithy then it eventually stopped....
So i've had this rear diff oil leak on my disco for a few months now, changed the rear pinion seal figuring this would be the culprit however it still seems to be leaking. any thoughts on what else could be causing it?

Our Land Rover does not leak oil! it just marks its territory.......
There are 2 different seals, early and late. Basically if your vehicle has the rubber coupling at the pinion it is classed as 'late', but the universal joint version can take the early seal up until 1994 update shape 'MA' chassis onward.
My guess is that the flange seal surface has a groove worn in it though. A 'flange kit' includes the correct seal aswell as a new flange and locknut etc.

Well my in a 97 V8 model and came with uni joint on the rear...
Anyway thats what i was thinking the flange might be worn, so i think a flange kit will be my next move...
