Thread: Disco 1 makes funny noise

My recently bought Disco makes a funny noise when accelerating in 5th, only in 5th and only when accelerating. It's the V8 S 98 Model. It's a bit of a windeing sound. It's not loud but is annoying while on the highway.

Any suggestions?

5th gear is indirect, you are hearing the gears working. Could have spent much of its life in 5th and is now a bit worn. Try a better oil, Penrite manual gear perhaps. Others will advise on specific oil.
