The LT is a construction preference but I am concerned the speed rating is lower than the originals (even though its still higher than what the car could ever hope to do)

. Any thoughts on the LTX/AT2 ?
The speed rating is only R (S for the passenger construction) but I really want the LT construction. Open to suggestions on fitting the 235/85 as well, maybe a little too tall ?

The others are the Latitude Cross, they look more road friendly but I am yet to meet anyone with them fitted.

I am also a big fan of the old XPC or whatever they were.
Wore very well and handled a treat.
They are no longer made and a replacement is due from what I hear.

If you want similar try the continental brand, fully imported from Germany-- pricey but a great all rounder.
Not sure which model exactly but we had the LTX on our work utes a Mazda BT50 and they were shocking once worn a tad.

Just my experience with them.

I have Michelin Latitude Tour HPs (235.70R16) on my V8 Disco 2, and I am very happy with them.

Most of my use is on roads and tracks, including some pretty ordinary gravel tracks, with a lot of heavy towing (2.6-2.7 tonne caravan) involved.

I got them because they are the M and S replacement for the XPC, but I don't think they would be up to much in real mud, since they are pretty much a highway tread.

On road/track they give very good handling and braking, in both wet and dry conditions, and they are very quiet and smooth. In fact, just like the XPCs.

I did also consider Scorpion ATs which appear to be very good, but in the end I decided to stick to Michelins which I have used on all my vehicles over the past 20 or so years without any regrets.

After de-laminating an Mitchelin XPC? after 106000Km on some rough roads, I had to make the decision what?
I decided to stay with 255/65 x 16 and that really narrowed the choice as I didn't want to go to the 70 profile.
Eventually went with the Michelin 255/65 - 16 Latitude Cross at $460 ea as the bus spends most of its time on the black top.
Absolutely no complains, incredibly quiet compared to the XPC, and that was a quiet tyre. Only done 1000Km so far.
Strongly recommended.

I had to replace what I assume were the factor Mitchelin due to some metal debris on the road. They'd done 80 000K. I went with the LATITUDE Cross. I'm pretty sure I got them for $295 each... Only done a couple of thousand K on them so far, no complaints. I've done a little bit of off road work and I was pretty impressed for what they are.

Ring around to get prices... then ring around again, places seem quite keen to match the opposition.

I am trying to decide between the Continental Cross Contact A/T and the Michelin Lattitude Cross AT and having a tough time doing so but it appears as though there aren't any of the Michelins in Oz at the moment

I reckon your choice should be decided by your rim width from the above specs.

Cheers Brian couldn't find any of the Lattitude Cross in Oz in the 235 so have got the last four 245 70 16s in WA, I figured the extra 14 mm in diameter shouldn't make too much difference and will probably be a benefit in sand (very important consideration on the left hand side of the country). I am fighting the desire to keep the current XPCs until they go completely bald...what a tyre.

It looks like supply will be the main problem here....not impressed. Plenty of other brands dealers want to talk me into,,,,,because they have them in stock.
