Yes you can however you need to purchase a remote lowering conrol.
This then needs to be programmed into the vehicle by landrover.
It of course only lowers the rear end but with the high rear end stance of the D2 this should meet your requirements.
Of course the car has to be SLS equipped.
They were originally designed for lowering the rear end to get under trailer hitches & if you were lifting heavier items into the rear of the car.
The rear lowers significantly up to 100mm if I remember correctly.
I was lucky & got one at a surplus stock price & a friend coded it to the vehicle for me.
The doors of the vehicle have to be shut for it to work & it will both lower & raise off the remote.
The car will also raise as it gets to a certain speed (which I can not remember) however experience tells me you will be able to exit your shed prior to it raising.

It was a handy little device that I used a bit when hitching up a big tandem trailer & for also helping elderly short family members get into the car.
I am sure others will be able to give you more technical detail.
    Hope this helps.

    Regards

    Chuck

but use this part and dont store the heights. it will raise itself when you restart the car.

Chuck, I was considering one of the key fobs...until I found out the price. Would be handy for loading the rear of the truck for sure. I have thought though, for daily use, the compressor is going to be working extra hard having to inflate the bags fully each day or each trip, and wonder if it would be shortening it's life.

thanks guys all very helpful i will have to look at getting the remote .
i have wondered about how much the air compressors life will be reduced but because the rover only comes out of the shed about twice a month i shouldn't be to much of an issue i hope .i will have to find some 1 around wagga with a nanocom as i think the car still needs leveling properly.

Couple of things to remember when looking for a remote...

    1/ They cost around $300
2/ There are 2 different frequencies that they operate on. 1 in the 300 mHz range, and the other in the 400 mHz range. IIRC, the Australian delivered vehicles came out with the 400 mHz
3/ If you do have to go to a dealer to have it coded, add another $100 to the price.

    Now, for the good news:

If some well informed person here can tell me what the SLABS ECU uses to trigger the down / up, I may have an affordable solution. What I really need to know is, does it use +12v, -12v, +5v, -5v, or short to earth?

And if someone had an old one "lying around" that they are willing to "donate" to the cause of testing & further exploration, that would be tops too.

A dash mounted switch would work too. Centre off. Up for up & down for down...

Now, if we can just get the other details, we will be laughing...

wiring diagram shows pins C0655-3 Valve Rear Left Hand, C0655-4 Valve Rear Right Hand ,C0655-5 Valve Exhaust, at the SLS pump and the pump itself looks like its triggered from pin C0506-15. but i cant tell if that's on the same pin block or not.
