    handset."
so it may be a variable signal ?
either that or the SLABS has an on/ff approach to the raise/lower.

anyone with a remote might be able to tell us if the raise/lower remote is proportional or just hit it once to lower to a set point and once to raise to the standard height
Just measure the voltage at the pin and earth the other test probe. If its +12V then you could safely say that applying any 12V external source to the pin should work.
However, if its +5V or other, you will need to tap the power from inside the BCU where the power comes from and wire an external switch to turn on and off. This would usually involve a jump wire across the pins at the plug from the correct voltage supply.

Its most likely triggered by a dual state IC from the remote command, much the same as a garage door operates. It wont be a variable voltage.

Never know, it may be as simple as that!

    Cheers

    Andrew

yeah that was my thoughts. all we need is someone with the actual remote to test for us

if this bypass is possible it will certainly make hooking up my caravan easier.

So, what we need is any or all of the following:

Someone with a SLS lowering remote to measure the voltage on the SLABS as the remote is activated.

    OR

Spare SLABS that we can use to experiment. I dont particularly want to cook mine by accident, and I am sure that no-one else does either.

    OR

Technical guru from LR to tell us what those voltages or signals are from the BCU to SLABS

So, if anyone can help, drop me or Rosco a PM & lets see if we can make this happen for all of those Disco 2 owners that have been wanting to do this forever....

Keep me posted on what you guys find out.... Would make loading the back of the ute very easy.

    Cheers, Tim

    Will do.

This has been bugging me for ages...

I know there has to be an easy way to do it, just gotta find it.

tommorrow i have a bit of spare time,. will disconnect the sls height sensors and see what it does for us, then if theres no fault logged, it'll be an easy bypass and i can do a step by step guide. more to come.
unless someone else comes along with the info required re the BCU output.

    SPARE TIME?? What's that?

However, if you do happen to have time that is not previously occupied with other things, I reckon the voltages on the SLABS input from the dash button might be a go as well.

I was thinking today, we also need to know if it is a constant input voltage, or momentary, and the SLABS has the smarts to take it from there.

Good luck... Given half a chance, I might get a moment before the race starts to check voltages...

Another thought that I have had...

When lowered with the remote, the car has to be running, with the doors closed etc.

The times I have lowered it "manually" by lifting the back & waiting for the sensors to pick up that the back has risen, allowing the air to be dumped from the bags, the car would re-inflate the bags as soon as it was started again. This has me wondering if the ride height part of the SLABS has to be over-ridden by the input from the BCU to tell it to "sit & stay".

As Big Kev would say "I'm excited..."
