BY THE WAY WHEN REPLACING THE AUTO FLUID/FILTER I CUT THE FILTER APART AND FOUND NO FILLINGS ALUMINIUM OR STEEL, WHICH INDICATED TO ME THAT THE CONVERTER WAS STILL OK,
I HAVE ALSO DONE A STALL CHECK AND THE AUTO WAS WITHIN THE REV RANGE REQUIRED

i went to 3 different places asking for the additive, but im just going to give up and order it from USA through ebay due to too many strange looks asking for something named Dr. Tranny ...

While it appear to be an interesting product, it might be worth looking at the recommendations on the manufacturers website before going the Dr. Tranny route.

it is labelled instant shudder fixx dr tranny i believe you can only get it from a automatic repair workshop it comes in a little red tub and i payed $22,
Yes it did stop the bad shudder in my car,
as I know what i have done to my disco and i have ruled out all the drive line and transfer case the next thing was to pull the auto out and replace torque converter, i was leaning toward the torque converter being ok because there was no aluminium shavings in the filter when I changed the oil,

even if it does only work once or twice per oil change at least you will know it is a good indicator that your problem is in your box.

Very happy to read that you found a fix that also seems to point towards the culprit. Don't forget that only the killer combo of a Td5 AND ZF autobox leads to these horrid vibes. Td5 Defenders rattle & shake enough as they are, but lack the harmonic vibes. During the summer holidays I met the head mechanic of Belgiums biggest Land Rover dealership and chatting about this subject he mentioned 2 treatments that they were using: swap the injectors around (so inj. 1 moves to pos. 2, inj. 2 moves to pos. 3, inj. 3 to pos. 4 etc. and/or by replacing the 3rd character in the injector code with a J and the 4th with an N for all injectors. Doing so will instruct the ECU to inject the max amount of diesel and by doing so reduce the vibrations... Have not tried it yet but the re-coding is done quickly enough. Will give it a try this weekend and keep you posted!

And swapping the injectors around of course requires recoding the ecu with the correct inj. codes.

I have had a vibration that was mild initially and increased over time, its a 2001 D2 Auto 105k. I checked the things mentioned in the posts flex plate, engine mounts etc. Pulling the handbrake on at 2200rpm reduced the noise slightly. I changed the spring set in the transmission handbrake a two man job with lots of bad language, the next decision was resort to alcohol or take a test drive to discover that this was a complete waste of time!
It worked!:) The auto changed quietly without vibration you can now hear all the wife's crap rattling around in the back.The longest of the springs seems to be a heavier gauge and there are two shorter springs. Does anyone know if it is the shoe return springs or the springs that hold the shoes to the backplate?

I had a CV go last weekend, I replaced it Thursday, the vibration I've had for the last 4 mths has gone, might be worth checking, especially if you have used the car offroad on a regular basis.

its on the to do list. at moment just waiting for opportunity to put in the shudder fix i ordered.
