Maybe this is one answer to the problem of vibrations?

Guys, I have just replaced my right rear hub and half shaft. What do you know just about ALL vibration has vanished.
Now that is an Easter present I can absorb gladly.
I still have a tiny roughness which I hope will also go on holiday when I get my new ambient air sensor from the ebay supplier.
    Regards Nick.

Wow, sounds like a dodgy wheel bearing.
    Good to hear it's sorted

My 2002 EU3 TD5 Auto has very little vibration.

I have posted on the handbrake fix which fixed the halleujah chorus at 2100 and I fitted new engine mounts quite a while ago.

I did notice more vibration when my temperature sensor got dirty and the ECU was seeing sub 60C temps. A quick clean and no more problem. So if your temperature gauge is reading low it is something to check out as the ECU takes its temperature signal from it.
I found it interesting that diesels have something like a "choke" also as my SILs Challenger showed terrible economy until warm.

Another source is said to be the front dual Cardin joint failing but mine is fine so far. Of course visually inspect the doughnut and the rear UJ as well.

You might check the play in the front driveshaft vs rear for the cross shaft cups failing in the centre diff as I guess this could cause vibration ( and backlash) and is pretty common. When I bought a disassembled transfer case for the CDL the cups in the diff were completely gone.

If you want to see vibration try an old Pajero . The whole car shakes on idle.
    Regards Philip A

both prop shafts have been recently replaced but the cure was the replacement of what I call a half shaft and hub. (the axle and hub combined)
