now i have replaced the crank angle and still no luck. the fuel pump can be heard quite loud when you stand next to the car.

any thoughts? is there a way to test the pump?

Could have burst its pressure hose inside the tank. Look for fuel pressure, loosen a screwed pipejoint carefully if there is one. Otherwise pull out the pump assembly and have a look. It isn't very hard, under the cargo area carpet is a hatch.

I have never heard my fuel pump running so if it's loud it can't be good.
If you have a V8 there is a connection point where you can fit a pressure gauge - just before the fuel rail near the top of the firewall on the drivers side from memory. I can't remember what the pressure is supposed to be. I'm sure others will though.

its a td5. i will take the filter off and see if there is pressure.
