I am only young and the youngest listed driver is 25 and it is insured for business use which raises the premium a fair bit.

    Full Comprehensive
    Windscreen Cover
    Hire Car Cover
    Excess $450.00

    Insured for market value plus accesories;
    • 2002 D2 V8 Auto ES Model
    • Snorkel
    • Bull Bar
    • Spot Lights / Driving Lights
    • 2" Raised Suspension
    • Cargo Barrier
In addition my coverage is for anywhere in Australia including private and public property as long as I am not breaking any laws. I specifically asked about coverage at 4wd parks etc.

Myself and a number of mates have TCIS insurance similar to Kelvin, full cover off road, agreed market value & itemised list of after market accessories & modifications etc.
Mate had a claim due to a roll over & claim was rejected due to accessories & modifications not being legal (i.e. more than 2" lift & larger tyres) even though all items being accepted by TCIS in the policy.
Need to be very sure that you are actually covered when it does come time to make a claim otherwise you run the risk of paying out money for nothing.
Mate is now building up another truck from parts from his written off truck & unfortunately no insurance payout - he is now rethinking his future insurance options.

    Quoted from the TCIS website:

    Modifications
No restrictions applied to vehicle modifications providing the vehicle remains legally roadworthy.

I'm looking at changing my insurances ATM.

    Great thread

    NRMA. 2001 td5 Manual.
    2010-2011 $902.40
    Agreed value $17500
    excess $800
    Both drivers over 40.

Just to show how having a higher excess can lower your renewal.
The above quote with the lower excess, shows if car is writen off, we are slightly better off with the return. Just under a $1000.
TCIS only made the below quote, when we told them the NRMA quote.

    TCIS Quote; $723.02
    year of quote 2009
    excess $600.

    NRMA, $677.36
    Year of quote 2009
    excess $2000
