strange cruise behaviour
Here is a bit of a different one. '03 d2a td5 auto, the cruise control works well however when I hit the resume paddle the horn sounds and the car does not resume its previous speed.
Both horn buttons work.
Got me stuffed, have had one guru suggest the horn relay is to blame any other ideas or support for this theory before I again go and brave the Hurt Locker style tension provided by airbag removal process.

ide replace the rotor coupler in the coloum.
air bag removal is easy. small torx bit and the plug for the air bag connector, oh and disconnect the battery first.

cheers discowhite I have had the pleasure of removing the wheel recently, swapped the floppy one for a nice leather one which is why the suggestion of horn loom was put forward. I was very careful with the rotary coupler; taped in place to prevent it moving etc and it seemed good.

i didnt know about the swapped wheel. so taking that into account are the controlls the same between the 2 wheels? ive only looked at my hse's wheel. one thing though, the horn buttons break often and when the button falls off the internal wire can short out causing the horn to work, its not something as simple as rubbed threw wire that shorts out with the movement of the cruise buttons?

yep everything swapped over easily and went into their proper places and everything else; stereo controls, horn and cruise set work as they are supposed to, it is just the resume paddle....hit that and the horn goes....and people look at you funny.
