Thread: Chassis mounted winch?

The reason i want to do this is because i have a non winch ARB bar and I have a winch from my last car and instead of some serious modification to the bullbar, i wanted to try and mount the winch between the chassis rails somehow and then change the cable to a plasma rope so i can run a smaller fair lead hole out below the number plate on the front to save the modification to the bullbar.

Any idea's/picture's appreciated.

TJM make a winch cradle which mounts to the chassis rails. Nothing special, should be easy to make yourself if you can get the dimensions.

The Winch cradle I did have worked fine, was discreet and perfect for use with a factory bumper.

Was it much the same as the ones that have had links posted to by longstroke and hamish71? or a different design?

Thanks for the links also guys, i think i might be able to make something up out of some U section steel as long as i can get some good dimensions.

Otherwise does anyone know of any other possibilities?
