There seems to be lots on USA ebay for about $40 or so.
I wonder if the wiring is there to plug into?

I was hoping more for a 3pin socket to plug the 3 pin plug into.In the early part of this thread ie back to about #17, Sierafery outlines the answers
Seeing LR leaves redundant wires all over the place, some of which wear through the fuel manifold, the least they could do is leave a 3 pin socket in place for the dimmer.

ON the D1, most probably yes.
On the two D2s(my V8 parter and bros TD5) so far I've checked, no!
(bugger).
Could be well hidden tho, dunno, but my part V8 is in enough pieces to make it easy to find all wires and looms.
Just can't see it anywhere in that area, under dash pod, nor under dash on driver side.
