    Seat upholstery

    Hi to all.

Does anyone know if the upholstery used in a 1999 vintage TD5 Series II is available? The body colour is White Gold and the fabric is a patterned beige.

The majority of the fabric in my vehicle is in excellent condition but the drivers seat has worn on the side lobe where your butt and leg rubs as you get in and out.

It seems a bit excessive to replace the whole seat just for the want of a small amount of fabric.

Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

    Thanks - David

    AWR3430SUC is the part number.
    It's available from LR but it's ex-UK.

It's not cheap though, around $450 retail.

I'm suffering the same problem but mine is Smokestone fabric I believe.

I've been told that someone, somewhere has a warehouse full of the fabric that had been removed from vehicles that optioned up to leather. Apparently all vehicles were shipped to Aust with the fabric seats and those who wanted leather had them changed here.

So the fabric was flogged off to someone.

Also, the bases are interchangeable. i.e. a left base can be used in the right and vise versa.

    Can this be confirmed?

Yes, left & right cushion covers & the cushions themselves share the same part number.

I tried for months to get a match for my 2000 model, I emailed quite a few motor trim suppliers in the UK but got nowhere.
I ended up buying a pair of seats from Bundalene.

Yes I tried around Perth, trimmers, Land Rover dealers, then emailing Exmore trim etc that I saw in the LR mags and I could not find any so I have gone with Lambs wool seat covers to hide the holes!

If you get in touch with your local dealer (probably Service rather than Sales), they should be able to tell you who did their leather conversions on new cars.
They might still have a heap of trim lying in a corner somewhere.
