i tow a 2.8 tonn boat with mine.
no issues as of yet.
hope that helps
To my surprise, the other day 'her indoors' came out with this gem ...... "Maybe we should look at getting a Kimberley Karavan". This came after absolutely no prior discussion!
My question, therefore is .... has anybody tried towing a KK with a D2 TD5 manual & if so, what issues if any?. Thanks.

Shaker, it will do it easily.
If you have a good 'adjustable' hitch (height and angle) and have digital feedback about how hard your engine is working while towing up long inclines etc, you will have no problems.
Cheers
Ian
I notice that at least two of you who say its no problem have autos, not manuals as Shaker has; not sure of the others. I've a chipped manual D2a and once moving there's no stopping it. However, its still a bit of a black art getting moving on any sort of incline without slipping the clutch somewhat and I'd have thought a KK, which is best part of 2T loaded, would create a big life issue for the clutch. If it were me, I'd seriously think of changing the diff gear ratios (to 4.11) to make life easier.
