    Removing Metal Key From FOB

    Hello All,

    Has anyone removed the actual metal key from the plastic FOB containing the loc/unlock buttons?

    I purchased a new FOB on its own and it has provision to insert the metal key part into it. There must be a trick to removing the metal key part from one FOB in order to attach to another?

    Could this be a locksmith job?

    Hold the key in a vice and wiggle/pull on the fob part.

    ..Its getting the key blade to stay in the fob thats the trick..

    No need for a vice, just use flat (blunt) blade at the back and prise the two halves of the key fob apart (see owners manual if in doubt). Then a little leverage to bend down the key blade at it clicks out easy.

    Re-fit is straight forward. Click in the new blade and re-fit both halves of the fob to hold it all together.
