    Mattg, 3/4"bar and socket,500mm+ long, or the easy way is go and hire a 950watt impact wrench,no smaller there really tight!!, did my cv this way.

    I have been thinking a 3/4 rattle gun might be the go. on the 1/2 " bar and pipe it felt like something was going to break. would a bit of heat help? I have a new nut to go on with the new hub.

    Sorry for the late reply, yes the 3/4" gun should work fine, it still might take a min or two to rattle off. I'd say no to heat .
