ive got the DBA front vented/slotted rotors on the D2...$168ea.
deffinatly an improvement from the OE ones and should last longer too.
cheers phil
I got a bit of a shock the other day when I looked at the front discs & saw the size of the lip around the perimeter.
In the past, with other vehicles, I have used RDA slotted rotors as replacements, are there any issues with using these or similar on the D2 TD5?
Any other recommendations?

Fellas, do you have to use genuine pads with the DBA's to prevent Amigo's???
Regards

No, I went away from the factory pads due to the dust. I use Bendix pads which have not cause 3 amigo problems.

i tried bendix on the D1 for 2 sets of pads and 1 set on the 90 (td5) and i found they would squeel on very cold mornings first up and after water crossings/mud. ive only ever used lucas pads after for the 90 and now the D2, no issues except the dust as simon mentionsbut its a D2A HSE so it has to be kept clean weekly so its not an issue for me
there also usefull as a break pad indicator, no dust=no pads
cheers phil
The main concern with slotted disc's is, sand or sloppy mud may get stuck in the slots and damage the pads/rotor. Never had them so I can't say if its true.
slotted for your application simply means less surface area which technically means, less braking power. Slotted does play a big part in certain applications, however. I love the APracing slotted pattern.
Cross drilled is not that bad at all. New Porsche GT2 RS still uses them, for exampleSo do Lambo and Ferrari.
