After reading all of the feeback and differing opinions (Thank you all!) I've contacted Tombie and await his reply.

As I pointed out in my original thread, I have no issue with piggy-back modules (DP style etc) as I have used these in the past. (Unlocked the potential a Jap import I had and removed the 180KPH restrictor as well)...it's just that I was very interested in the cost savings of a re-mapped ECU as well as the similar if not better quality of the power and torque improvements.

The benefits of this forum are obvious and assisted me greatly!

BTW - my mate's DP was $1500 and like many of you, he doesn't begrudge spending the $$ as he is pleased with the performance gains. I'm sure he and I will be very interested in a having a standing start, back-to-back performance test once I get the ECU back and fitted Will let you know the results!!

    Gday...

I'm stuck in Mine land at the moment so hard to access my emails...

Can you give me a heads up on model, year, auto/manual etc..

    Any modifications to exhaust etc..

And if you can get me your ECU part number (opposite end to the plugs) and should be NNNxxxxx format... Then I can proceed faster and hopefully have something ready soon.

Bog stock no modifications (Fresh canvas waiting to be accessorised)

    ECU - NNW004050

Good workshorse but couldn't pull the skin off a rice pudding at present

Will be blanking off the EGR once I receive the ECU from you

on a related issue, I've got the TRS upgraded ECU (1999 manual D2 Td5) and am now considering getting a Td5 Alive aftermarket intercooler (the ones for manuals are huge) and turbo booster. Will I need to get the ECU adjusted again or will the sensors account for changes to air flow/temperature automatically?

No need to touch the ECU.
The motor SHOULD improve due to the cooler intake charge = more oxygen. The wastegate acuator may need tuning to make the best of the cooler intake air.
Im about to go down the same route. How much is the TD5 alive cooler???
Ive asked Toombie to see if he can sort a group buy discount on his ASE intercooler.
