    full service

    hey all

    im planning a full service for my disco V8 but want to know what you guys use such as oils, plug and filters.

    this is my first service i have done to this car but have done others before on a classic rangie and thought if there are better options then what is suggested in the rave model then i would rather that for the guys who know.

    i could take it to the local mech but need some quality bonding time with the disco.

    so what would you suggest for the following (brand, best place to buy,Etc)
    • spark plugs
    • engine oil
    • trans oil
    • gearbox oil
    • brake fluid
    • diff oil
    • coolant
    • brake pads
    • air fliter
    • fuel filter
    • spark plugs
    • leads


    if there is anything i have missed

    Repco has a special on Penzoil at the moment, good discounts.
    Roverlordoffroadspares on ebay are cheap aswell.

    Hi Disco Dan

    double platinum spark plugs , the OE are champion RC11PYPB4 they are about $20 - 30 ea.
    there is a bloke on ebay that does leads & plugs for about $230 delivered
    oil 5w40 either semi or fully synthetic

    coolant oat type such as nulon pre mix the red stuff if that is what is in it, NEVER mix red with green

    Dont go looking for the fuel filter as it is part of the Fuel pump, not a replaceable part, unless you want to change the pump..

    On the D1's it was part of the service kit, but not the D2.

    If its auto, put a auto filter on it as well.
