there are a few d2s running 33s, they do fit,, but only just, mite need a slite gard cut
Hi guys and girls,
i'm new to this forum and hopefully someone can shed some light for me.
My 99D2 SE7 with ACE has just had the coil conversion done and lifted 2" at the same time. All good and it rides and drives better than it did on the bags - i was amazed!
It currently runs a new set of 245/75/16 STT's which are fine but with the lift i'll upgrade to something more substantial.
I know the 265/75/16 or 235/85/16 will fit no probs but does anyone have any experience with the 33" or 285/75/16 on a D2 with only 2" lift?
Also i know that if i go that route i need to go 8" rim - any ideas here?
Yes we do get off road when ever we can so it gets full articulation from time to time.
cheers,
Deano

There's a set of 16x8 rims on ebay if you are prepared to pay the freight.

Matman is running 285/75/16's on his d2 with only a 2'' lift (standard off-set rims i'm pretty sure), they only rubbed on the plastic sill things, so you will have to either trim these or replace with some sliders, if you don't have a bar on the front you might find it will rub on the standard plastic bumper as well
With wider off-set rims i'm guessing it will be a different strory.

Mums- stock 92 200tdi d1.
Going up to that size (33") really starts to bring in strength issues etc and you should be looking at heavy duty CV's and shafts. The D2 will cope with up to about 32" no probs, after that its a lottery.
Anyway, thought is was illegal over there to go to big on tyre fit ? or is that just certain places ?
No you are correct about the legal issues unless you get it engineered which shouldnt be a problem i would have thought.
Ashcroft cv's and half shafts are on the shopping list anyway.
Thank you for your comments, much appreciated.
All i need now is someone travelling from the uk to Aus who has room in thier hand luggage for the above items and i'll be right - hmmmm.
cheers,
Deano
