It can be done. You have to lower the climate control to make room.
you also need to sacrifice the cup holder.

Id stay single din n get a fold out touch screen. Sony's are meant to be designed for high vibration or so they claim but id just run with it closed on heavily corrugated roads.

Gday. I have a JVC KD-AVX33 head unit in my Disco 2 and it is brilliant. I have it wired up to a reverse camera. It has a 3.5" colour screen, plays every conceivable media known to man, 5.1 surround sound, 2 video inputs, bluetooth media, bluetooth hands free phone and after 2.5 years of ownership, it still amazes me. USB cable included so all my music is on a 16Gb flash drive. LOVE IT. Highly recomened. Heck, they probably have something better out by now. And yes, it fits in the standard slot with NO modification.

I have a double din AVN6000 in my Disco 2. I did not have to shift the climate control or the cup holder, but expanded the slot upwards. Works well for me. This system has the sound and GPS as well as reversing camera display.

You know the rulz...no pics, it didnt happen.... And in your case, a "How To'" in terms of fitting a double DIn deveice in the dash in the nanner you said would be appreciated.
